Beyond the Ordinary

This is where our journey begins. This story is NOT in the book, but should have been. I will share it with you here so that you can see what awaits you in my book.

CAR TOTALED: Three blocks away from their house, my sixteen-year-old granddaughter and our daughter Jen were traveling through an intersection in their Nissan Sentra (a small car) when a young lady in an SUV T-boned them by running a stop sign. They didn't know if she was texting or just not paying attention as she said she thought it was a four-way stop, which it wasn't. My granddaughter Sidney remarked, "then, why didn't you stop?"

My daughter's car with Sidney driving was totaled and their injuries were minor cuts and bruises and moderate whiplashes. Praise The Lord! Then, we looked at the pictures and heard what happened...Sidney had seen the car with her peripheral vision at those last seconds before impact and had applied the brakes enough that instead of the SUV going into her driver's door, which would have caused more serious injuries, it went into the Nissan's front axle. This projected the car to the right and up the curb. In those last seconds, Sidney moved herself slightly to the right to avoid the impact.

Excellent defensive driving from a newly licensed sixteen-year-old or God? What made her make those slight adjustments? God?

After impact, Sidney lost control of the car. When the car came to a stop, it landed right between a fire hydrant and a large tree trunk. I mean, each obstacle was a fraction of an inch from the car. Hitting either one of those would have caused much more damage and injuries, we're sure. We're, also, sure that car and the whole outcome of the accident was God-controlled.
